Welcome to the community development in support of Silver Street Elementary. We are citizens concerned with keeping and maintaining this community anchor and historic landmark.
Please feel free to express your thoughts and opinions about ways to benefit our community school.
We'd like to give a big thank you to Jamey Aebersold! Jamey has always been a big supporter of Silver Street Elementary. He also regularly visits with his jazz ensemble to teach about the dangers of smoking. Yesterday, Jamey gave us a donation that allows us to go ahead and place the order for 100 yard signs today!
Jamey attended Silver Street, as did his father and son. He told me that his father told the story of walking home from school after the 1917 cyclone and having to step over power lines to get home. {:-o
We will continue to collect tax deductible donations as it may be necessary to purchase additional signs, and to help offset the costs of paper, copies and other necessities.

This is GREAT news!
We all need to be ready, as soon as the signs are completed, to get them out to houses in our district boundaries as well as other high traffic intersections!
This is imperative to our cause!
Maybe we should all post intersections/areas we think are key. That way, when the time comes, we can knock-out the distribution in a short time.
My thoughts are to definitely place signs near homes that are for sale. If you have neighbors close to homes for sale, please be consider asking them if they would please place a sign in their yard.
We also need to get some signs directly across from the school.
We need to also consider businesses and homes at every key interesection, as well as on Silver, Ekin, Spring, and Vincennes.
Also, St. Mary's and DePauw are both having picnics on the weekend of the 14th. Any signs we can place in those locations are imperative.
What else can you all think of?

I love the signs! The red and white shows the school spirit and they are easy to read, and they stand out!
